Planning Units
The District Planning Unit is headed by the District Planner, it has three sections namely; Planning , Population and Statistics. The Population Officer heads the Population and Statistics Section. Planning Unit is mandated by law to coordinate, integrate and provide timely information on the planned activities in the District Development Plan, monitor and evaluate the implementation of activities in the District.
The key outputs for the department as per the planning cycle:
- Consolidated and produced copies of the approved 5-year DDP Plan.
- Mentored all the LLGs in Planning/Budgeting process and Reporting to meet the LGMSDPI
- Monitored and Evaluated selected District PAF and LGMSDP implemented projects Sector.
- Holding one monthly DTPC meeting by the Population Officer
- Coordinated District and LLGs LGMSDP and LoGICS activities
- Coordinated District mainstream Specific Projects and HIV/AIDS Programs into the DDP
- Trained LLGs in Community Information System and collected data from the 7 LLGs
· Facilitated Planning Cycle Phase in 7 LLGs;
· Preparation of Annual District Abstract.
· Coordinate and Produce OBT (Output Budget Tool
· Coordination of Community Information System (SIS) and Births and Deaths Registration Activities.
Challenges
- Poor flow of funds to facilitate LoGICS (data) collection and entry.
- Limited commitment by some Sub county Chiefs to comply to the required guidelines
- Limited funding from LRR to operate and maintain office equipment and lack of vehicle
- Late submission of Accountability reports from LLGs.
